Valentine’s Day Plans and a Few Things We Love
February is one of my favorite months because I love Valentine’s Day so much, and Penelope’s birthday is in February. Here is some of what we will be doing this month and some of our favorite things for Valentine’s Day.
No. 1 The Washington Ballet is performing Romeo and Juliet at the Kennedy Center this month. Wouldn’t that make the cutest date night? {kennedy center}
No. 2 We recently watched Funny Face with Audrey Hepburn and the girls loved it so much they ask to watch it all of the time. I think that will be our pick for movie night this month. {funny face}
No. 3 The Olympics is happening this month and we will definitely be watching. The ladies figure skating events are February 21-23! {figure skating}
No. 4 I was a figure skater when I was young, so I like to take the kids ice skating at least once every winter. This year we went to the outdoor ice rink in the Sculpture Garden at the National Gallery of Art. The setting is so pretty, and they play classic jazz music while you skate. {National Gallery of Art}
I have always loved to celebrate Valentine’s Day, and now that we have children, my husband and I like to celebrate the holiday at home with them. I like the idea that Valentine’s Day is a chance to show people that you love how much you care about them. In our family, your Valentine doesn’t need to be a boyfriend or a crush, just someone that you care about.
It also helps that everything for Valentine’s Day is red and pink and super cute. Here are some of our suggestions for gifts for the special day.
No. 5 My girls love cotton candy, so I have been dying to order this product that I found on Instagram. The flavor names are so cute, I think the girls will love it. {fluffe}
No. 6 This lingerie is the perfect romantic gift to or from your Valentine. 😉 {nordstrom}
No. 7 I love to get flowers for any holiday, but it is so disappointing when they die so quickly. These flower arrangements are so cute, and they last for a year. {saks}
No. 8 I am loving this top for my little ones. {forever 21}
No. 9 I bought one of these lockets for each of my girls for Christmas last year and we never got around to putting pictures in them. I am going to try to surprise them with this for Valentine’s Day. {jcrew}
